Usually I use these in the shower in the morning. These gloves are great if you’re prone to ingrown hairs. Laura Mercier Face Polish. I’m absolutely hooked on my gommage. It’s a violet-scented exfoliant and I use it every other day in the shower. It’s amazing for my pores. Laura Mercier Lip Colour Sheer in Just Lips and Sexy Lips. I made these two for myself because I’ve always been in love with that perfect, sheer lip. Laura Mercier Thickening & Building Black Mascara. This holds my lashes in place, thickening them without clumping. It doesn’t make them heavy or weigh them down. Laura Mercier Bleu Marine Eyeliner. This cake liner is navy blue, almost black, and it makes the whites of the eyes really clean because of the color. I was reluctant to buy this book based on all the negative reviews, but I got it anyway. I really do not understand what all the hostility is about.This is definitely a gorgeous coffee table book, featuring Laura Mercier's makeup tips, her makeup and yes the celebrities who swear by her products in gorgeous photos.I am not a makeup artist and I appreciate simple makeup tips that I can do myself at home vs. going to a cosmetic counter, getting overly made up with no instructions on how to do it at home.I love her concealer products and I highly recommend this beautiful book and her products to anyone who wants to have a natural, flawless look.

Dcalypso says it all. I regret not having taken her review more to heart. I love Laura Mercier's products and hoped for a book to match. It's a very pretty book, but not at all useful. If you want a book full of gorgeous photos of Madonna, Julia Roberts and so on, interspersed with cute watercolour sketches of Laura, Laura's dog, Laura applying makeup and so on (filler, in other words) - then go ahead and buy this book. For application mavens, go to Kevin Aucoin. I can't recommend anyone else because I only know his books - which have proper step by step photos of concealer application, for instance - not vague sketches with captions like deep set eyes showing one deep set eye with make up and one without. In a sketch. Hello? Is it just me or are sketches useless? Especially cute watercolour sketches? Hey, I think I speak for most women when I say we want step by step photos (like the great lamented K Aucoin!) - that's how the non professional can learn from the pros!To be honest, I don't know what to do with this book. I can't imagine giving it to anyone I know. And it's so big that it's going to take up valuable space. Oh well.

It's a pretty book, with lots of information, but unless you're going into the makeup business yourself, it's just not practical. Too many products, too complicated applications. Cute, but not really usable.

The only reason I think this book came to be is because she was offered some kind of amazing book deal, which was surely followed by the work of a ghostwriter.But all that aside, there isn't much more information in this gigantic thing that what could be compressed into a pamphlet. Most of it is just photos of celebrities (which, I can only assume are photos of the makeup she's done? They never say). If you carefully read through the directions for how she applies foundation and eye concealer - that is very helpful and unique. But that was just about the only thing that was worth it.

I probably wouldn't suggest this book to someone who is new to makeup and needs to look at step by step instructions. There are lots of online tutorials that are good for that.This book offers techniques for corrective makeup applications, color suggestions, and yes, lots of photos of celebs wearing Laura's makeup. I think these photos can be used for insiration, or to identify with the celeb's features (provided said features are not bolted on-ha ha).If you are pretty comfortable with makeup application but want to fine tune your routine, this is a decent book. Even better if you can find it at a discounted price...more money for makeup!

I am a current Master CNE and have been a CNE for many versions of Netware (also an MCSE, CCNA, CCDA, CCSA). The book is filled with wrong information and problems. I'm not being overly critical, I'm talking basic information that's just plain wrong. It was right for NetWare 5, but not NetWare 6. In fact in several places, the book accidently says NetWare 5 when it means NetWare 6 - I think they were cutting and pasting from the NetWare 5 book. I virtually always buy the Novell Press books and this is the first time I have ever been this disappointed. The information that is correct is frequently woefully light on content. It's amazing how little of value a 1500 page book can actually say.

I purchased this book hoping to find a definitive reference on NetWare 6. I mean, who else would publish such a book but Novell Press themselves.Unfortunately, within the first 50 pages of this book there are at least 10 errors on items such as what is included with the OS, minimum requirements for RAM and DOS partitions, what is included with the Express Install and what some of the features like NSS support. There were also numerous references in the text to NetWare 5 or 5.1, which makes me think that much of the text was cut and pasted from previous versions of the book. There are also some glaring omissions like no mention whatsoever of the new auditing tools.Considering that the book was published about 5 months after the release of the OS, I was extremely disappointed in its accuracy. I'll be looking to return my copy and find something else that does a better job. I recognize that someone put a tremendous amount of work into this book, but someone should have done a better job at checking it for technical accuracy.

I have had the book about a week and have read it all the way through. I have found a couple of errors here and there but it does do a good job of explaining stop messages and console commands. That came in very helpful when one of my users decided to back up their 30 gig hard drive to the server and made the server abend due to lack of RAM, 256 mb and old machine they upgraded while I was on vacation. The book does have the same feel as the Networks 5 book but it is from the same authors so you know that some of the stuff is copied and pasted. Lets face it, NDS/Edirectory design really has not changed that much since IntraNetware. But the book does cover a number of the topics for the new CNE 6 exams and is very helpful in troubleshooting purposes. Say what you will about it but I found it very helpful and saved my company some money. And come on now, you get a evaluation copy of Netware 6 with the online documents on CD.Good LuckDackMCNE5/CNE6/MCSE/CCNP/CCA/N+

Having been a CNE since 1993, I needed to refresh, and update my NetWare skills, so I purchased this book. It was my first choice because it comes from Novell Press.The first chapter had plenty of errors, not just one. I gave the authors the benefit of doubt, and read into chapter two. Mistake, errors there too. So I decided not to continue. Just as when Mark Furman told one inconsistent statement on the jury stand, his entire testimony was called to question, I became suspicious of all content.Oh well, I thought, at least I have the 5-user NW 6 demo disk. I installed the demo disk, and discovered the license expired on 12-31-2001, so its usefulness is limited to administrator login only.There is a lot of information, and I'm sure the overwhelming majority of information is correct, but I am the network guy, not a detective.Do what you will, but I am quite disappointed.

We are embarking on a complete redo of the NOS infrastructure at a medium size tier one automotive supplier. We have many high performance machines in the lab at the moment to provide a mock environment. Netware is the only well supported NOS that can scale practically to larger environments, and Netware 6 has compelling features over previous versions. Since we are building a mission critical 24/7 system to upgrade the existing one, we get 1 shot at getting a design right that they will have to live with for the next 7 to 10 years. Over the past 6 weeks we've read thousands of pages of Netware 6 documentation, and discussed, and designed. At the beginning of the project, a guy who works with me purchased this book without looking at any reviews. I had purchased Mastering Netware 6 by Gaskin based on the reviews here. I mentioned some of the comments made in the reviews of this book, and at length he felt a little foolish. However today, the book with the sticky note tabs and yellow highlights, is this book. It's the one reference that goes into enough detail to make intelligent decisions for design and implementation.I confess what got me to look at the book was a thirst for sadistic glee to verify the comments made about its inaccuracies. Sure enough I found one. On page 541 of the Gaskin book it says that iManage is the only option for managing DNS/DHCP in Netware 6. Page 1328 of this book mentions the DNS/DHCP management console, obviously a cut and paste from 5.1. But just to prove it, I got out the CD. Well OK, so this book was right. It was there. This book shows setting up using it, instead of the newer iManage. I thought it odd since even the Netware docs use iManage. Initially I attributed this to this book being behind the times. Later, I was having quite a time with DNS/DHCP and values changing automatically. I installed the DNS/DHCP management console, and learned the hard way that iManage is buggy, and retrieves information from other DNS servers into the one you are currently working on. We easily solved the problem using the tool recommended by this book. SLP is another area where this book takes a road less traveled. This is but a couple of instances of many we encountered while prototyping the network.In the end, my co-worker and I switched books. He likes the style and humor of the Gaskin book. I like full context discussions of how things work under the hood, the planning considerations, and the right implementation information to get up and running as designed. It also covers all of the new internet utilities as well as a 75 page chapter on integrating ZENWorks with Netware 6. You can go as deep as you want to with this book. It will even tell you how NDS works inside. Once you understand how it works internally, which is key to knowing whether or not you have an efficient tree design, you'll immediately recognize that a lot of advice out there comes from people "blowing smoke". Everything becomes crystal clear when you use this book. That knowlege will translate into confidence that your design and implementaion will match the needs of the organization, and that you have leveraged all of the applicable strengths of Netware 6 in the process. With the other books, there was never quite enough or the right information.If I could pick only one book to go along with the Netware docs, this would be the book, hands down. (Actually this is the only one I reach for now.) I normally wouldn't spend my precious time writing a review like this, but this book is incredible. This book wasn't written for the reader, it was written for the doer. You will not recognize the strength of this book until you have to deliver. With the Netware docs, and this book, you can deliver!BTW, I'm not a book reviewer. I'm a guy with grease under his finger nails.

Even though this book is required for a class I am taking, I was reluctant to purchase it based on the reviews saying the product is not as advertised. I agree that the description is unclear, but I purchased the paperback & 3 CD set directly from Amazon, and the product arrived in new condition with all three working CDs. I can't say whether other versions (the Kindle edition, hardcover, copies from third-party sellers) would arrive with the music needed. At $73.27, it's not the worst price I've had to pay for a physical textbook (with CDs) by far. Just make sure that the version you are purchasing will have everything you need and you know how to access the audio content, CD or mp3, before you decide.As for the content, it seems to be a pretty standard textbook. I'm posting my review now, before I've really used the book, to make it clear that it is possible to purchase a version with the music you will probably need for a class.UPDATE May 2014:Now that I have finished my class I have changed my rating from 4 to 3 stars. While the book contains a lot of good, accurate information, it is somewhat poorly organized, and at times I found it confusing to read. I also noticed several editing errors that were not just typos but content problems. The worst error I found was a chapter review question that referenced a paragraph that had been removed from this edition (which made doing my homework pretty difficult). I'm still giving it three stars because I felt I learned a lot, but at times this book takes some extra effort to fully understand it.

I payed a little extra to get this "Like New" book instead of a few cheaper ones, but when I came the pages were dirty on the outside, there was some writing inside, and worst of all the cover was bent all over the place. I was pretty disappointed and the bent cover bothers me every time I read it. Didn't have time to return and order a different book since I needed it for school, so now I'm stuck with it. This seller has a few reviews where the condition did not match the stated condition--I'd go with someone else.

This is a great text. I am using it to teach a World Music class and it has a lot of information and examples.Many people rated this low becuase they said it did not come with the Mp3. That is not the case. At the end of the table of contents is says to email AcademiceBooksSupport@informa.com with proof of purchasing the eBook (I just forwarded my email from Amazon) and they email you back with a code. After you have that code it is a simple process and you have access to the Mp3.

If you read in the beginning of the book after the table of contents it tells you to send an email to AcademiceBooksSupport@informa.com with proof of purchase in order to access the MP3 files. My email was returned within 24 hours with a link and access code to a site to download the music files for all 3 CD's. How to complain when the CD's cost $40 and the book upwards of $50 but renting the book and getting the MP3's for $14. Win-win.

This book came from apex media. The book is in terrible shape and more importantly the cd's are so abused some of the tracks will not play. that makes the entire product worthless. It is actually less than worthless because now school has started and I can not complete my assignments and this is an online class so I am on my own. There is no excuse for poorly ran businesses or outright fraud. I hope no one buys from Apex media and they go out of business.

The book is pretty good and I found it to be a pretty good companion for learning beyond the world music class that I took. I will be keeping this book for reference in the future.The CD's...that was another issue. They had superficial scratches all over them and during some of the audio tracks would skip or there would be digital noise indicative of scratches on the CD surface.I contacted the publisher and insisted that they be replaced due to faulty packaging. There were 2 other students in my class that had issues with disc damage due to packaging as well. After a short rebuttal, they replaced them but don't count on it being replaced within the time that you need them. Go to your college library and rip them real quick (no harm, you already paid for them) the text and discs should be on reserve. Some might find it quicker or more efficient to go through Amazon with a replacement since they are selling the product that has known packaging issues.There is some pretty good music on the discs if you are into anything other than pop-crap.

I am very disappointed in this book. has a quilt for every state but not the patterns. just the pictures. When searching for the pattern I want, Can not find it any where. I would buy it but can not find it any where. There are I think 16 patterns but why show the quilts for ever state if you are not going to include the pattern.

Loved the 50 state quilts. Wish there were patterns for all of them. Enjoyed reading about the quilts and enough patterns to be useful.

I personally enjoyed seeing all the Quilts of Valor State by State. The patterns included in the back where also a nice treat. I understand that many of the quilts where unique and as such did not have specific patterns supplied and would have violated some copyrights had they been included. Every QOV is unique just like us human beings!
